How to see Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok chat in one window (free)
Short answer: Can I see Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok chat in one window for free? Yes. The Multistream app is free and shows chat from every platform you connect in one list.
When you stream to more than one platform, chat is spread over a tab for each one. You flick between them, miss messages, and a viewer on Kick waits while you are busy answering Twitch.
The Multistream app puts them in one list. It is free to download, and the same chat can go on your stream too. Setting it up takes about five minutes.
Connect your platforms in the Multistream app
Do this once. It takes a minute or two per platform.
- In the Multistream app, click Connections in the top bar. A list of platforms opens.
- Click a platform's name to open its steps. For Twitch and YouTube, click Authorize with Twitch or Authorize with YouTube and sign in in the browser window that opens.
- For TikTok, type your name in Username (without @). For Kick, type your channel name in Channel slug.
- Switch each platform on. Anything that still says Setup needed has steps to finish first, and the switch is off until you do.
Read all your chats in one list
Chat from every platform you switched on lands in one list, newest at the bottom. Each message has the platform's logo next to the name, so you can see where it came from.
- Open OBS Sources in the sidebar.
- Find the Docks card and click Open next to Full dashboard. A second window opens with several widgets on one page.
- Find the chat list in that window. It says Waiting for chat until the first message arrives. Put the window on a second screen or beside your game.
- Send a message in each of your chats. They should all show up in the one list.
Put the combined chat on your stream
The list above is for you. To show chat to your viewers, add the chat overlay to OBS.
- In the Multistream app, open OBS Sources in the sidebar and copy the Chat overlay link from the Chat card.
- In OBS, add a Browser source and paste the link as its URL.
- Click OK, then move and resize it on your scene. Messages from every platform you switched on show up there.
- To change how it looks, open Chat Overlay in the sidebar.
If you don't use OBS
A Browser source works the same way in any streaming app. Once you pick yours in the Multistream app, the sidebar page is named after it instead of OBS Sources, and the steps above stay the same.
If something isn't right
A platform's chat is missing. Open Connections and check its switch is on. If it says Reauthorize, sign in to that platform again from the same list.
TikTok shows nothing. TikTok chat only comes in while your TikTok is live. Check your username has no @ and your TikTok stream has started.
The chat doesn't show on stream. Make sure the Browser source is visible in your scene and uses the Chat overlay link, not a link from another card.
Questions, answered
Can I see Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok chat in one window for free?
Yes. The Multistream app is free and shows chat from every platform you connect in one list.
Do I need to be live to see chat?
Not for most of them. YouTube reads chat from your active broadcast, so it shows once your YouTube stream is live, and TikTok chat only comes in while your TikTok is live.
Can I show the combined chat on my stream?
Yes. Copy the Chat overlay link from OBS Sources in the app and add it to OBS as a Browser source. Other streaming apps have a Browser source too.
Does this change where I stream?
No. Chat is separate from your video. You can read all your chats here whether you stream to one platform or several.
Is there a chat on the website too?
Pro also has Multichat on the website, which puts chat from your platforms in one list. The desktop app described here is free.
