The OBS multistream plugin: go live everywhere from one dock
OBS sends one stream to one place. A multistream plugin changes that from inside OBS, so you can go live on Twitch, YouTube, Kick and the rest without leaving it. Multistream for OBS is a free plugin that adds a Multistream dock: it checks your setup before every stream, fixes most problems in a click, and goes live everywhere with one button.
Here's how to install it, what the dock does, and how your stream reaches each platform.
Install the plugin
It's for Windows 10 or 11 with OBS 31 or newer, and takes a minute:
- Close OBS.
- Download Multistream for OBS and run the installer.
- Open OBS. The Multistream dock opens on the right the first time.
- Click Sign in with your browser for Multistream Cloud. Or, with the free Multistream app open on the same PC, click Use the free app on this PC instead.
What the dock checks before you go live
Your OBS settings. Platforms want H.264 video, a keyframe every 2 seconds and a bitrate they accept. The dock checks all three and offers a fix where one is off.
Where OBS sends. If OBS still points at a single platform, the dock offers Point OBS at Multistream and keeps your old setting so you can go back.
Your platforms. Each platform you turned on gets a row, so a missing key or a signed-out account shows up before the stream, not during it.
Going live
One button. Go live on 3 (or however many platforms you turned on) starts OBS and every platform after a 3, 2, 1 countdown you can cancel.
While you're live, each platform shows how long it's been live, and you can stop or restart one without ending the rest. Before anything comes off the air, the dock asks.
If your upload struggles, the dock warns you when OBS drops frames, with the share it dropped in the last minute, and after the stream Check again offers a lower bitrate.
When you stop, the dock shows a summary of the stream, including its dropped frames. With Multistream Cloud, the full report for every platform is on multistream.gg under Past streams.
How your stream reaches each platform
Free, through the app. Without Pro, the dock sends your stream through the free Multistream app on your PC, which sends a copy to each platform. Your upload carries one copy per platform, so run the app's Speed test to see how many your connection can take.
One upload with Pro. With Pro ($10/mo), OBS uploads one stream to Multistream Cloud and the cloud sends it to up to 12 platforms. If OBS or your internet drops, your platforms stay live on your BRB clip for up to 30 minutes.
Keep Twitch's Enhanced Broadcasting. The dock can leave Twitch on OBS's own stream and send everything else through a second output in OBS. See multistreaming with Enhanced Broadcasting.
