Add alerts to your stream

Alerts pop up on your stream to thank people when they follow, sub, cheer, raid or tip, on every platform you have connected.

You need: The Multistream app on your PC, OBS

Set up the alert in the app

  1. Open Alerts in the sidebar, under Overlays. You land on the Alert Box page with a preview beside it.
  2. Under Platforms, tick the platforms you want alerts from.
  3. Under Events, click the kinds of alerts you want, like Follow, Sub or Raid. Lit-up ones are on.
  4. Under Text, change Title and Message. {user} becomes the person's name.
  5. Under Sound, switch on Enabled and click Play sound to hear it.
  6. Under Test preview, pick a platform and event, type a name and click Test alert. The alert plays in the preview.

Want a bigger alert for big tips or cheers? Under Alert type, add a rule and set Only from and Up to, like 100 to 999 bits.

Under When alerts pile up, Wait their turn plays every alert in full; Replace the current one only shows the newest.

Put it on stream

  1. Copy the link in the Source section at the top of the page.
  2. In OBS, click + under Sources, pick Browser, paste the link into URL, set Width 1920 and Height 1080, and click OK.
  3. Leave the source covering the whole picture. Alerts appear where you set Position under Layout.

The OBS Sources page also has "Alerts, all in one", one source for the alert box and the scenes you make in the Scene Editor.

On the website

  1. Sign in to the Multistream app on your PC with the same account. The app can be open or closed while you change things here.
  2. Open Alerts in the dashboard sidebar, under On stream. You see the same alert settings as in the app.
  3. Change the text, sound or look. With the app open it updates on your stream right away; with the app closed it's saved and shows when the app opens.
  4. With the app open, click Test alert under Test preview to play one on your stream and in the app's preview.

With the app closed, your changes are saved to your account and show on your stream as soon as the app opens. The first time, open the app once so your current setup is saved to your account.
