Show chat from every platform on your stream

The chat overlay shows messages from all your connected platforms in one box on your stream, so every viewer sees everyone else.

You need: The Multistream app on your PC, OBS, At least one platform connected in the app

In the app

  1. Open Chat Overlay in the sidebar, under Overlays. A preview of your chat shows beside the settings.
  2. On the Look tab, click one of the Presets like Midnight or Sunset to change all the colors at once. The preview changes right away.
  3. Change Bubble background and Bubble opacity if you want the messages more or less see-through.
  4. On the Layout tab, drag Chat overlay size to make the whole chat bigger or smaller, and set Max messages visible.
  5. On the Type tab, pick a Font family and set Message font size so chat is easy to read on a phone.
  6. Copy the chat link with the link button above the preview, then add it to OBS as a Browser source (see Add any Multistream overlay to OBS).

The Events tab has Clear now, which wipes the chat off your stream without turning anything off. New chat keeps coming in.

Each tab has a reset button at the bottom, like Reset Look to defaults, if you want to start over.

On the website

  1. Sign in to the Multistream app on your PC with the same account you use on multistream.gg. The app can be open or closed while you change things here.
  2. On the website, open Chat overlay in the dashboard sidebar, under On stream. You see the same tabs as in the app: Look, Layout, Type and more.
  3. Change any setting. With the app open it shows on your stream right away; with the app closed it's saved to your account and shows as soon as the app opens.
  4. To add the chat to OBS, click Copy link in the Add it to OBS card, then paste it into a Browser source in OBS on the PC that runs the app.

With the app closed, your changes are saved to your account and show on your stream as soon as the app opens. The first time, open the app once so your current setup is saved to your account.
