OBS settings checker

Type in what OBS is set to and see what Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Facebook and TikTok need changed: the video format, keyframes, bitrate, frame rate and sound.

What it checks

  • Video encoder: H.264, which every platform takes.
  • Keyframe interval: 2 seconds. Twitch, YouTube and Kick need a keyframe at least every 2 seconds.
  • Bitrate: at most 6,000 kbps for Twitch, 8,000 for Kick and 9,000 for Facebook.
  • Frame rate: 60 fps at most.
  • Resolution: Kick takes 1080p at most, and bigger costs more upload.
  • Sound: AAC at 48 kHz.

Each thing to change comes with where to change it in OBS, Streamlabs, Meld, XSplit, vMix or PRISM. To check the stream OBS really sends, the free Multistream app reads it on your PC, as a test, without going live.
