Back up your settings and move to a new PC
A backup keeps your alerts, overlays, actions and platform choices safe. If your PC breaks or you get a new one, you are set up again in a minute.
You need: The Multistream app on your PC
Save a backup file
- Open Data in the app's sidebar, under App. The Backup and restore card is at the top.
- Leave Include passwords and API keys off if you might share the file or keep it in the cloud. Turn it on only for a file you keep as safe as a password.
- If you use video alerts, turn on Include alert videos so they come along.
- Click Download backup. A file is saved to your Downloads folder.
- Copy that file somewhere safe, like a USB stick or your cloud drive.
Sign-ins, chat logs and viewer statistics are not in the file. On a new PC, sign in to your platforms again.
The app also keeps copies of your last working setups by itself. Click Automatic backups to see them.
Keep a copy on your Multistream account
- Sign the app in to your Multistream account on the Go live page.
- Come back to Data. Under On your Multistream account you now see your saved copies, newest first.
- Click Back up to your account now to save one straight away. After that the app saves one a day by itself when something changed.
- On the website, these copies are on the Account page under Settings backups, where you can download them.
Copies on your account never hold passwords.
Restore on a new PC
- Install the app from the download page and open Data.
- To use a file, click Restore from a file and pick your backup file.
- To use a copy from your account, sign in first, then click Restore next to the copy you want.
- Confirm with Restore. The app reloads and shows your old setup.
Restoring replaces the settings you have now. The app saves a copy of them first, under Automatic backups.
