Change your streaming app, or switch to your phone

You told Multistream what you stream with when you set it up. If that changes, you don't run setup again: one line on Home switches it, and your platforms and chat stay connected.

You need: The Multistream app, with setup already done

Open the switch

  1. Open Home in the sidebar.
  2. Under your platforms, find the line You stream with. It names what you picked, for example OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop or a phone.
  3. Click Change next to it. A card opens that asks What do you stream with?

Your platforms and chat stay connected. Only the steps and links the app shows you change.

The line shows once you've finished the first-run setup on Home. Until then, Home asks the same question as part of setup.

If you use OBS

  1. On the card, click OBS Studio. The pick is saved as soon as you click it.
  2. Click Done. The line now says OBS Studio.

Coming back from a phone? Clicking OBS Studio also clears the phone choice, so Home stops saying phone.

If you use Streamlabs Desktop or another app

  1. On the card, click Another app.
  2. Next to Which app?, open the list and pick yours, for example Streamlabs Desktop. It starts on the first app in the list that isn't OBS, so check that it names yours.
  3. Click Done. The line now names your app, and the app's steps say your app instead of OBS.

Home's checks stop telling you OBS isn't open when you stream with another app and haven't linked OBS.

If you stream from your phone

  1. On the card, click A phone.
  2. Next to How do you go live?, open the list and pick Each platform's own app or A streaming app (Moblin, IRL Pro, Larix).
  3. Click Done. The line now says a phone. The steps for adding an overlay to OBS drop off your setup list, because a phone has no OBS to add them to.

Close the card

  1. Click Done, or press Esc on your keyboard. The card closes and your pick stays.
  2. Changed your mind? Click Change again and pick another one. You can switch as often as you like.
