Welcome new chatters and thank raiders automatically

Small touches make new people feel at home. The bot can say hello to anyone chatting for the first time, and thank streamers who raid you. A raid is when another Twitch streamer ends their stream and sends their viewers to yours. It can also tell chat when a Twitch ad break starts, so viewers know the stream is still going.

You need: The Multistream app on your PC with the bot on (the website's settings reach it by themselves), For raids and ads: your Twitch account connected

In the app

  1. Open Tools in the sidebar, then Multistream Bot. You land on its General page.
  2. Under Greetings, switch Welcome newcomers on and write the hello under Message. Pick the chats under Greet on.
  3. Open the Raids & Ads page and switch Shout them out on.
  4. Write your thanks under Thank-you message, for example Thanks for the raid @{user}! The {user} part becomes the raider's name.
  5. Switch Delay the next ad on, so raiders don't arrive in the middle of an ad.
  6. Leave Post when ads start on, and change its Message if you like.

Viewers can type !adtimer in chat to see when the next Twitch ad break is due.

If nothing posts when an ad starts, reconnect Twitch once so the app is allowed to see ad breaks.

On the website: greetings

  1. Open Bot and click Edit on the Greetings card.
  2. Switch Welcome first-time chatters on.
  3. Write the hello under The bot says. The {user} part becomes the viewer's name.
  4. Under On, pick the chats where the bot greets people.
  5. Click Save. The card now shows your welcome.

On the website: raids and ads

  1. Open Bot and click Edit on the Raids and ads card.
  2. Switch Thank them in chat on, and write your thanks under The bot says.
  3. Switch Push back the next ad on, so raiders don't arrive to an ad.
  4. Switch Tell chat on to post a line when an ad break starts.
  5. Click Save. The app on your PC picks it up by itself.

Raids and ad breaks are Twitch features, so this part works on Twitch only.

What every setting means

Raids & Ads in the app

These are for Twitch, and work while the bot is on.

Shout them out
When someone raids you, the bot gives them a Twitch shoutout: a card in your chat with their channel and a Follow button, so your viewers can find them.
Thank-you message
What the bot says in chat after the shoutout. {user} becomes the raider's name. Leave it empty to send only Twitch's own shoutout.
Delay the next ad
Pushes your next ad break back when a raid arrives, so raiders don't land on an ad. Twitch allows only 3 a day.
Post when ads start
Posts a line in chat when a Twitch ad break begins, so viewers know the stream hasn't stopped. Subscribers never see ads.
Message
The ad break line. {value} becomes the longest the break can run, in seconds. Say an ad break is running rather than you will see ads, since not everyone gets them.

Greetings on the website

This runs in the bot in the Multistream app on your PC.

Welcome first-time chatters
The bot says hello the first time someone ever chats on your stream. Each viewer is greeted only once.
The bot says
Your welcome line. {user} becomes the viewer's name, for example Welcome to the stream, @{user}!
On
The chats where the bot greets newcomers: Twitch, YouTube, Kick and TikTok.
Post the credit line
Once per stream, about ten minutes in, the bot posts Made with multistream.gg. It never names your other streams. Off unless you turn it on.
On
Where the credit line goes: Kick and YouTube only, because Twitch and TikTok don't allow pointing their viewers elsewhere.
Save
Keeps your changes. The app on your PC gets them by itself.

Raids and ads on the website

Twitch only. This runs in the bot in the Multistream app on your PC, because Twitch tells the app about raids and ads.

Thank them in chat
When someone raids you, the bot gives them a Twitch shoutout (a card with their channel and a Follow button) and posts your thanks.
Push back the next ad
Delays your next ad break when a raid arrives, so the new viewers don't arrive to an ad. Twitch only allows a few a day.
The bot says
Under raids: your thank-you line. {user} becomes the raider's name.
Tell chat
Posts a line in chat when a Twitch ad break starts, so viewers know the stream is still going. Subscribers never see ads.
The bot says
Under ad breaks: the line posted. {value} becomes the break's length in seconds.
Save
Keeps your changes. The app on your PC gets them by itself.
